SOLVAY is a chemical company and does not itself carry out the engineering for flue gas cleaning installations. It is the engineering and operating companies themselves that design and build the installations.
Rather, SOLVAY:
- makes its process know-how available to all interested engineering companies,
- can provide performance guarantees for the reagent,
- supplies the sodium bicarbonate needed for the flue gas cleaning,
- has teams of experts ready to help operators and engineering companies,
- can organize on site trials of flue gas cleaning, for performance optimization.
In this way the operator can structure and organise his installation as he chooses, whilst being sure of obtaining the support of Solvay’s NEUTREC® teams in any event.
These teams:
- assist in the design of the installation (Process Guidelines)
- provide support at the start-up and commissioning stages (Operating Guidelines): analysis, verification and optimisation of the cleaning performance
- examine the RSC purification / recycling possibilities
- propose and carry out preliminary tests, including making available a mobile laboratory.
